Michele Vernasca

Jens has worked in international financial markets predominantly in Asia for the last 20 years in areas such as trading, derivatives, economics and Investment Banking. He started his career with Westdeutsche Landesbank (WestLB) in Germany in 1989 and came out to Tokyo in 1990 as an analyst/economist specializing in small to mid size Japanese corporations. In 1995 he became the Head of Research for Westdeutsche Landesbank Securities Pacific (WSP). In 1998 the research product was ranked No. 3 for Japanese small caps by Greenwich Associates. In 1998 Jens became Managing Director and assumed responsibility for the entire equity operation of WSP in Asia/Pacific. In 2001 Jens became a member of the Regional Management Committee for WestLB in Asia.

Jens left the WestLB Group in June 2004 to become a partner in Trident Pacific Capital, a specialist long/short hedge fund.

In January 2009 Jens bought the Australian business of Trident Pacific Capital and founded Likedealer Pty Ltd.

Jens holds a Diploma in Economics from Christian Albrechts University Kiel in Germany and is a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst).

Michele Vernasca

Michele has a Bachelor Degree in Finance & Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master Degree of Accounting & Commercial Law from the same University. Michele is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

He started his career at Trident Pacific Capital, a boutique Japanese equity long/short manager with clients in continental Europe, the US and Hong Kong. At Trident Michele gained market experience and quickly reached the position of Risk Manager. In the later stages of his employment he crossed trained with the fund managers on the investment side becoming an integral part of the investment team.

In 2008 Michele joined Monte Paschi Asset Management S.g.r to help the firm with the implementation and development of the Alternative investment area. He collaborated with Hedge fund analysis for the bank's fund of funds mandate; classification, risk factors assessment and performance analysis including transaction based attribution.

Michele left MPSAM in July 2009 to become a partner at Likedealer Pty Ltd.
